The Water’s Edge is ready to help so that your employees can enjoy life to the fullest. The key to establishing and maintaining an exercise program is a sound beginning. As part of your Corporate Membership, your employees will receive a comprehensive Smart Start Program with a Certified Fitness Specialist.
- First, we’ll assess their current fitness level, help set realistic goals, and get them familiar with the facility.
- Second, we’ll develop a personal exercise program, specifically designed to help each employee reach their health and fitness goals.
- Third, they will receive a complimentary Personal Training session with one of our Certified staff.
- Lastly, each employee will learn how to make their workouts fun, effective, and how to properly use all the equipment. A follow-up session is offered after several months to help fine-tune their program and ensure they continue to get the desired results. Our staff will be there to support them every step of the way!
- Beyond the Smart Start Program, your employees can workout independently with many other programs and classes that take the guesswork out of their workout and create a customized total-body fitness program. Fitness Consultants and Personal Trainers prescribe exercises to perform, the equipment to use, the correct amount of weight, and the appropriate number of repetitions.
It was never this easy...
The Water’s Edge will partner with your company to identify your health and wellness concerns, create a specialized comprehensive wellness program to meet your needs, and maximize employee participation. As a result, your company will have healthier, more productive employees, and a better bottom line.
REDUCED Health Care Cost:
Top Cost Health Risk:
- Current Smoker
- Rarely or never exercises
- Absent more than 5 days per year
- Systolic Blood Pressure above 90 mm Hg
- Diastolic Blood Pressure above 90 mm Hg
- Cholesterol of 240 mm/dl or higher
A study highlighted in the April 1999 issue of Peak Performance quantified the annual savings per
employee as a result of workplace health programs. After categorizing the workers into high-risk and
low-risk groups and following their health costs over three years, this study found that the percentage
of high-risk employees decreased from 31.8% to 25.3%. This decrease resulted in an annual savings
of health care expenses of $129 per employee. In contrast, health costs increased for all other workers,
the largest being a $734 increase for employees who went from low-risk to high-risk. If 251 of your employees shifted from high to low-risk, how much would your company save at $129 per employee,
per year?
 IMPROVED Productivity
Employees who exercise produce more than those who are not active. On average, fitness-conscious employees produce over 5% more. If your Company had a 5% increase in productivity, what would that contribute to your bottom line?
REDUCED Absenteeism and Sick Days
Employees who exercise are absent an average of 2.5 days less per year than those who do not exercise. In many Companies the total loss of work from absenteeism averages as many as 10 out of 220 days per year, and because replacement labor is used about 75% less efficiently, absenteeism increases payroll costs by almost 8%.

 POSITIVE RETURN
On Investment...
“Wellness Programs in general and Fitness Programs in particular may be the only employee benefit which pays money back. When more people come to work, you don’t need to pay overtime or temporary help; when people stay at the job longer, training costs go down; lower health care claims cost you less if you’re self-insured – and health care insurers as well as some companies are already beginning to create premiums based on fitness levels.”

IMPROVED Ability to Recruit Top-Quality Employees:
“Health Club Membership is the perk most job seekers want from their next employer.” According to a survey by Lee Hecht Harrison, a Career Services firm in business for over 30 years, 58% of those surveyed want a Health Club Membership from their next employer but only 8% expect to receive one...This means that a Health Club Membership is the most desired perk and considered to be an exceptional benefit not found in many companies.
