 Land-Based Fitness Classes
Zumba – Open to all levels. Fun, easy to learn Latin dance steps. The Zumba® program fuses hypnotic Latin rhythms and easy-to-follow moves to create a one-of-a-kind aerobic fitness program. Come experience the class that everyone is talking about!
Gentle Yoga – Open to all levels of experience. This class is meant for the person wanting a slower start to their yoga practice. Practice is at a pace that is restorative as well as challenging. Meditation and pranayama (breath) techniques are an integral part of the class.
Meditative Yoga – Open to students with prior yoga experience. This class will link postures (asanas) with breath (pranayama). Emphasizing slow and mindful movement inter-spaced with stillness.
Yoga – Open to all levels, from beginner to experienced, this class focuses on practicing at one’s own pace—making modifications---or not. Alignment and breathing is emphasized in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Class format infuses traditional Hatha Yoga techniques, meditation, relaxation, pranayama (breathing exercises) with an occasional Vinyasa Flow or asana practice with a fitness ball. Come, be yourself, and have fun in “It’s Yoga”.
Yoga & Meditation – Moderately paced, mixed-level class. Focus is on the flow of poses and connecting the breath with the pose. Guided meditation is included in this class format. Class open to students with prior yoga experience.
Zumba/Strength – Dance to Latin rhythms for the first half hour followed by strength training to sculpt and tone your body with weights.
Total Definitions – Take the unique combination of cardiovascular interval/dance sequences, team it with weights, Bosu, balls, etc… or your own beautiful body weight, then add a lot of sweat and laughter. This class helps totally define the body, mind and spirit. Bring your ‘A’ game!
Balance & Strength – Research proves increasing balance and strength decreases our biological age, thereby making us physically younger. The use of resistance equipment and stability balls will improve both, making this class your “fountain of youth”!
Sculpt & Tone – This complete athletic workout works every major muscle group in the body. Prepare to strengthen, condition and tone your muscles in this class. Ideal for beginners to experienced exercisers.
Personal Training – At The Water’s Edge you will find a very motivated group of highly trained and nationally certified Personal Trainers! Members can work with a Personal Trainer on a one-on-one basis, in pairs or small groups. Our Personal Trainers focus on each client’s fitness goals and specific needs. You may choose to purchase *Special Personal Training Packages of 3, 6 or 12 Sessions or meet with your Personal Trainer on a periodic basis.
We strongly recommend a minimum of 6 sessions for those who desire a significant improvement in strength, balance, bone and muscle mass and flexibility. Your Personal Trainer will be there with you every step of the way to ensure a positive result and you’ll thank yourself for it!
