Patient Services: Getting Started

To help familiarize you with our facility, please be aware of the following office policies. These policies have been developed to help us serve you better, keep our fees low and assure our patients the best care possible. If you have any questions regarding our policies, please ask – we are here to help you in any way we can.

Scheduling Appointments:

We strongly recommend that you make your appointments well in advance. This will guarantee the best time and day for you. Our early morning and evening appointments will fill up first...

Scheduling With “Your” Therapist:

We want you to be comfortable and successful in your therapeutic experience at The Water’s Edge. We will make every attempt (if it is your desire) to schedule your appointments with the same Therapist or Therapy Assistant whenever possible. Please help us with such requests by asking to schedule your appointments with such individuals whenever your schedule allows. We cannot guarantee it, but we will do our best!

Reminders:

As a courtesy, we will try to call you or leave a reminder message the day before your scheduled appointment. Please be aware that you are still responsible to give 24-hours notice should you need to cancel or reschedule. Please make all requests for appointments to our front desk during our normal business hours or by calling 410-643-3130.

Cancellations:

We request a minimum of 24-hours notice if you cannot make your scheduled appointment so that we can best serve all of our patients. Please note; there is a charge for late cancellations or missed appointments as follows: $75.00 for all physical therapy initial evaluation and re-evaluation appointments, and $45.00 for any regular physical therapy appointment.

Payments:

In an effort to keep our fees and your balances low, we require that you make your payment at the time of service. There is a $25.00 fee for all checks returned NSF from your bank.

Insurance:

Many of our patients are fortunate enough to have medical insurance to help defray the cost of Physical Therapy treatment. The overwhelming majority of insurance plans do not cover all treatments in full. You are responsible for your co-payment and all deductibles, if applicable, at the time of service. We cannot make exceptions, as it is illegal to do so. To help you process your claims, our staff will do most of the paperwork for you as a courtesy. As we are not an insurance company nor do we work for or represent any such company, we cannot guarantee any eligibility, extent of coverage or any payment by your insurance company. You are ultimately responsible for any outstanding balance.

The Uninsured:

We are compassionately aware that not all Americans are fortunate enough to have health coverage or benefits. Please do not hesitate to call our Business Manager to make arrangements for a Self-Pay Plan if you do not have health insurance.

Office Records & Chart Notes:

All of your records are strictly confidential. If you wish us to process your insurance claims, we must have a signed authorization allowing us to send pertinent information to your insurance company. You will be given and asked to sign a copy of our Privacy Policies and Practices before your first appointment.
